WEAR YOUR IMAGINATION

When it comes to designing a new collection we always strive for the same things.
We Strive to be different, to be unique, to create pieces that will last a lifetime, to be brave and above all, to provide quality products that will inspire you; our customers.

We make pieces that are sometimes simple, that might be practical, that must always be comfortable, that can be inspired by the present or the past, from adulthood and very often from childhood.

Our Autumn Winter collection is just such an example, and when it came to inspiration we found ourselves drawn to the magical world of Alice in Wonderland; a childhood favourite that captivated us then and still captivates us now.

“The time has come," the walrus said, "to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships - and sealing wax - of cabbages and kings”

- Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass

Childhood stories are written to enlighten young minds but an adult’s mind is still that of a child’s, merely buried beneath time. We wanted this collection to turn back the clock, to have a sense of nostalgia the way a familiar children’s book might. We wanted to create clothes that would allow you to wear your imagination.

“Imagination is the only weapon in the war against reality.”
- Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

 INTRODUCING THE ALICE COLLECTION

For the Alice collection, we designed four key pieces and three accessories inspired by Alice’s Adventures; all made in a shimmery silver fabric with a pink and green muted floral print. A design we feel is symbolic of the mystical and enchanting wonderland at the end of the rabbit hole.

No1

THE MENDLE DRESS

The Mendle dress is a classic baby doll shape which we exaggerated to make more current. A traditional child’s dress would have fitted puffed sleeves, we have dropped ours off the shoulder to make the dress less girly and more wearable. We made the skirt pleats wide to create a flattering silhouette and added a small stand collar and deep hem to balance the oversized smock shape.

No 2

THE ELSIE COAT

The Elsie Coat is a very traditional and simple A-line shape with a high back vent to create a billowing silhouette. We wanted a coat that was special but eminently wearable, where the shape and fabric could speak for themselves.

No 3

THE RIVA SKIRT

The Riva skirt is a statement piece that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. We stitched the top seams flat to create a streamlined waistband and added elasticated pink gross grain ribbon that can be tied in a bow or left loose.

No 4

THE FREDDIE TOP

When designing the Freddie Top, we wanted to tick the boxes that dresses and skirts can’t. We wanted to create a piece that could be worn with jeans and trousers, for days when you want to feel casual but special at the same time. The ruffle collar and hem add a touch of femininity to the boxy shape and the oversized bodice allows for ultimate comfort and movement.

THE ALICE ACCESSORIES

ACCESSORY No1

THE LITTLE LONDON BAG

The little London bag is the perfect size to fit in everything you might need on an adventure without weighing you down. We chose a cross-body shape so you can have your hands free in case someone offers you a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

“No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time.”
- Lewis CarrollAlice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

ACCESSORY No2

THE TOULOUSE TIE

The universally known Alice Band originated in 1865, following the publication of ‘Through The Looking Glass’ where Alice is shown wearing a ribbon to tie back her hair. It therefore made perfect sense for us to make one of our own. We wanted ours to be generous enough so it can be used not only for your hair but also as a belt or as a necktie, to hang in your bedroom or tie round your wrist… To be an accessory that requires imagination.

 ACCESSORY No3

THE PRAGUE POUCH
Last but not least is the Prague pouch. Quite simply because if you get invited to a party you will need a little bag that matches your outfit. Obviously.

THANK YOU

&

we hope you enjoy this collection as much as we enjoyed creating it.
